Devoted baker shot during mugging goes to work
George Keller, 53, known for perfect attendance, was attacked by young robbers before dawn while on his way to his bakery. Despite chest stomach and buttock wounds he boarded a bus, reached the shop to light ovens, then walked 12 blocks to a police station before being taken to Queens General Hospital in critical condition. A detective noted victims in shock may act oddly.
