Salvation Army Citadel Remains Strong in West Frankfort
West Frankfort Salvation Army Citadel, led by Envoy Bob Williams and his wife, receives renewed support from Christmas mail campaigns and local donations. A 4,000 dollar mail effort this month followed a 4,200 dollar drive earlier, helping the unit avoid closure after financial strain. Plans include moving headquarters to Glad Tidings Church and possibly turning the old building into a youth center if local support grows. The unit, built in 1925 after the tornado crisis and established 1996, continues church services led by Williams and aids area residents in need.
