A Trigon Specialties Inc branch plant in Johnston City is delayed awaiting equipment and utility connections. The Bremen Indiana Teamsters wildcat strike ties up trucks from the Brennan plant, delaying arrival of the first load. Officials expect operation after year end once transport, utilities, and wiring are in place, with 10 to 12 workers initially and up to 60 within a year. Traffic Check Due In 1965

An engineering survey is planned early in 1965 for parking and traffic flow in Murphysboro. Mayor Joe Williams says state help is sought to assign engineers to work with the city after the holiday period. Consideration of one way streets to improve flow and allow two side street parking is noted. Downtown parking for holiday shopping is a major issue. The city is acquiring three properties on Locust Street between 11th and 12th for development and will raze them in 1965. A second plat for Green Meadows subdivision on North 16th Street was approved, and the first plat for 18 lots was approved two years ago for Ellis. The mayor thanks Civil Defense auxiliary patrols for night store protection during holidays.
