Philip Berrigan Walks Free From Prison Greeting Brothers

Antiwar priest Philip Berrigan was freed after serving over three years of a six year sentence for destroying draft records and smuggling letters. He was greeted by brothers Daniel and Jerome as about 150 supporters waited in fog and drizzle.

Wolf Lake lagoon sewer system near ready in January

Engineer Robert Fuller says the Wolf Lake area sewer project in Union County may be ready for users in January. The three stage lagoon system by Vincent Construction Co. serves about 100 users mainly private homes, plus three businesses and the post office. Remaining work is on treatment facilities. Farmers Home Administration provides a $98,000 loan to be repaid over 40 years.
