Carbondale workers Joseph Mann and Herb Cole clear broken milk bottles at the Oak and North Illinois streets intersection after a New Era Dairy truck malfunction. Sales manager William Hinchcliff said the lift dumped bottles into the street and about half the load was salvaged. The dairy no longer uses glass bottles and the bottles were being transferred to Prairie Farms Dairy on North Illinois Avenue.
