Pantries Struggle to Keep Shelves Stocked for Holiday Aid
Culley and area pantries report half or more of stocked food shrinking due to USDA cutbacks and lower donations. About 80 dollar bags of essentials now hold 32 to 34 items. Agencies across Franklin and Jackson counties warn some pantries may close within six months if relief declines continue, while volunteers and donations from scouts churches and civic groups offset some shortages.
