Santa Claus line cut after 1 day due to volume
Michigan Bell cut off Santa Claus after service lasted only a day and a half. Bell said the equipment cannot handle the extreme calling volume with 5473 attempted calls in half an hour on Monday night. The line was arranged by a senior citizens group and disrupted area phone service.
