In Murphysboro a 3 p m Christmas concert by the Grade School and Junior High Band at Carruther's Junior High School. Monday events include Murphysboro Woman's Club at First Presbyterian Church and a meeting of the Carbondale chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons at the Community Center with a covered dish and $1 gift.

Medical self help: Chester hospital to train for Packaged Disaster Hospitals
Memorial Hospital Chester joins Elmhurst Springfield in PDH training effort. Training begins 1969 with two annual community sessions. goal to train 50 to 100 per session and at least one person per family for disaster self help. PDH units add 200 beds, require storage 7 530 cubic feet and 15 000 square feet of space.

Nativity Glass Scene Built by St Luke's Camp Hill
Members of St Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill collected jars and bottles for a new glass nativity scene. The project began in August with Cathy Thies drawing the figures on plywood panels, then cut and filled with sandblasted plate glass and colored shards.
