Ex Marion Man Heads City Wind Tunnel Project
Former Marion resident Jack Weber leads construction of a major wind tunnel for testing helicopters in Philadelphia. As engineer in charge for the Vertol Division of Boeing, Weber oversees a 400 by 200 foot facility set to be completed in 1966 at a cost of about 4.5 million dollars.

Engineers club funds scholarship at Marion dinner
The Egyptian Chapter of the state Society of Professional Engineers raised money for a 400 dollar scholarship with a dinner and dance in Marion. About 120 registered professionals, guests and wives attended. The scholarship will go to the first qualified SIU engineering student at the start of his senior year. Dean Julian Lauchner reported on progress of the School of Technology Building, under construction near SIU Arena with a 1966 completion goal. Edward W. Vogler Jr. of Vogler Motor Co represented Ford dealers in the St. Louis district at a Dearborn conference.
