Tragedy in Murphysboro as Train Rams Truck
A southbound Illinois Central train struck a light truck in Murphysboro downtown injuring two children and the mother and killing Raymond Webb 26 and his daughter Sharon Kay 4. Webb's wife Phyllis Ann 28 and a son Richard 1 died in hospital with another son Michael 3 in critical condition. An inquest will be held. the wreck occurred near 13th and Hall streets as the train slowed for the stop.
