Falling tree kills inmate at Vienna Prison labor crew
A 27 year old inmate Fred Meyers of Marion was killed by a falling tree during a 9 50 a m accident at Vienna Prison while clearing a fence line. An inquest is set for Friday evening. Meyers had a two to five year theft sentence and was transferred to Vienna April 30. Funeral services Friday for Meyers at Mt Pleasant Church.

Mental health unit elects officers at annual banquet
Williamson County Mental Health Association will elect officers at 6:30 p.m. today during its annual banquet at the Ambassador House in Marion. Elections include president vice president secretary and treasurer. New board members will be appointed and Dr. R C Steck will discuss future mental health services in the county.
