Corporal Mark O Penninger son of Mr and Mrs Charles C Penninger of 203 Freeman St Anna received a five day rest and recuperation leave in Japan while with the 2d Infantry Division in Korea He joined the Army in August 1951 and served as a cook since arriving last March

Kersey Funeral Rites Held in Metropolis
Funeral services for Mrs. Wier Kersey 87 of 817 E Third St Metropolis were held Sunday at the Nazarene Church. She died Friday night and is survived by sons Walter and Roscoe and daughter Jessie. Burial followed at Memorial Gardens.
