Reassessments of Union County personal and real estate property will be carried out with minimal extra preparation, according to Earl Batson assessor treasurer. The changes follow the abolishment of the county supervisor of assessments office.
The board will compute real estate taxes from 1949 assessments and personal property taxes from supervisor of assessments figures. The union county board of commissioners reviews assessments as in prior years. The assessor treasurer office relocated to the court house second floor with Louie Kelley and Gladys Helton Corbin as deputies.
