Record gusts and floods from Hurricane Nina hit Hawaii in 1957
The storm brought an 82 mph wind gust in Honolulu a record for the city and left Kauai drenched with 20.42 inches of rain while 35-foot waves battered beaches. The eye remained distant though winds came from the southeast at 10 to 15 mph. Humidity and pressure readings were noted with today forecasting mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers. Highs ranged from the mid to upper 50s with breezy winds.
