Architect William B Chirgostis presents a farmhouse style ranch design with four bedrooms in 1898 square feet. The plan includes a living room, dining room, family room, modern kitchen with dinette, laundry area, and a two car garage with storage.
A hymn sing is planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Herrin Free Methodist Church in the 2400 block of North 13th Street, with Rev. Lawrence Strode as pastor. Also included is a tip to keep costume jewelry clean by soaking five minutes in a soda and water solution, then rinse and dry.
Murphysboro Woman's Club members should reserve by Wednesday for the 25th District meeting. President Mrs Leonard Bartnick says the $2.25 fee must be paid and reservations made by Wednesday. The district meeting is set for December 10 at the University Center, Southern Illinois University.
After nearly two years the Carbondale League of Women Voters High School Survey Committee completes study of Carbondale Community High Schools East and Central. Results will be announced at a public meeting in CCHS Central at 8 p.m. Wednesday with William T. Holder, district 165 superintendent, speaking and a Q&A session to follow. A Know Your High School pamphlet will be distributed.
Mr and Mrs Harold W Burk of Route 1 Lebanon announce the engagement of their daughter Kathleen Jane Burke to T Sgt James A Wolfe at a Thanksgiving Day family dinner. Kathleen is a Lebanon Community High School and Belleville Junior College graduate attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale majoring in English. Sgt Wolfe, son of Mr and Mrs John Thokovich of Weatherford Texas, is stationed at Scott AFB and will depart for Vietnam February 1.
