Man walks away unharmed after Benton train collision
Michael Hayes of Danville Ind lost in rural Benton while hauling a 27 foot Crownline Boat behind a 2007 Chevy Silverado. He ended on a service road off Old Lake Road and became stuck on a train crossing. A 94 car train hit the truck at about 15 mph. Hayes escaped injury. Sheriff Bill Wilson said details to follow.

Murphysboro District OKs three year contract for staff
Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186 board approved a three year contract for certified and non certified staff.
