Neutron beams show promise against hard tumors at Fermilab
Dr. Frank Hendrickson says neutron therapy at Fermilab, the world’s largest neutron facility, treats 250 to 300 patients yearly with higher potency than X rays and similar side effects. Early results from 1,000 patients include high disease-free rates in salivary gland tumors, mouth and throat cancers, glioblastomas, and other hard cancers, with pancreatic cancer less favorable but still improved over standard therapy.

Divers find massive hole in Andrea Doria generator room
Divers exploring the Andrea Doria wreck reported a large hole in the generator room after a Sunday dive. The find suggests the Stockholm collision caused far more damage than believed, explaining the liner's rapid sinking in 1956. The expedition led by Peter Gimbel and Ted Hess also recovered a Banco di Roma safe during the mission.
