Funds save Cairo hospital rescued by PADCO deal
The Pulaski Alexander Development Corp. PADCO will merge with St. Marys Hospital of Cairo Inc. in a rescue plan. PADCO assumes 100000 of a 600000 deficit and the Illinois Department of Agriculture guarantees another 100000. The rest is moved to the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Robert Meyer of Chicago will serve as temporary director.

Two Hurt in Du Quoin Area Crash
Janet E. Bunge, 30, of Rt. 1 Du Quoin and Harry Boren, 73, Merkel Texas, were injured Wednesday afternoon when their vehicles collided at Rt. 51 and Sunfield Road about four miles north of Du Quoin. Bunge sustained major injuries and was taken to Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Boren had minor injuries and refused treatment.
