Judge denies reduction for sex offender Salyers

William Palmer rejected Darrell Salyers bid to shorten his 90 year sentence for predatory sexual assault of a 12 year old girl in Herrin. Salyers received 30 year terms on each count and must serve about 76 years before eligibility for parole. Prosecutor Beaty had sought 120 years but accepted the ruling.
