Pope John Paul I reappoints Vatican curia chiefs
Pope John Paul I reaffirmed Paul VI policies by reappointing Cardinal Jean Villot as Secretary of State and renewing heads of the nine Congregations. Cardinal John Wright heads the Clergy Congregation, while Arch bishop Agostino Casaroli keeps the Council for Public Affairs. The five year terms largely carry over, with Villot Casaroli and Caprio as personal choices. Vatican hints at a cardinal consistory this year as Tokyo Dublin and Turin host cardinals in the future.
