Murphysboro Infant Spared Rabies Shots
An infant in Murphysboro will not receive rabies vaccine after a puppy licked the child following play with a dead rabid skunk. Officials say no bite or scratch occurred, the dog was not bitten, and the skunk corpse was not torn apart, so immunization is deemed unnecessary.
