Williamson seeks mental health tax boost on ballot

Williamson County residents face a proposed mental health tax increase. The county mental health association needs about 1,600 signatures to place the measure on the November 5 ballot, equal to roughly 10 percent of the last countywide vote. If approved, the levy would rise from 2.5 to 10 cents per $100 assessed value, with possible future increases allowed without another referendum.
