Seismic Rules Spur Plan To Rebuild School Site
Seismic laws require student areas meet standards but not the superintendent’s office. Remodeling costs are estimated at 50 to 60 thousand dollars, or 55 thousand for a modular building. Croft proposes tearing the old building down and constructing a new seismic compliant facility for similar cost. The plan would add classrooms and an office, involve building trades students, and advance long term district goals while reducing student smoking on site.
