Blagojevich energizes in north as southern ire lingers
A Chicago Tribune WGN poll shows Gov Blagojevich gaining in northern Illinois while southern voters list disappointment over the budget fight. He will launch the Du Quoin State Fair with plans to push his agenda. Democrats rally while union leaders fault the administration. Poll shows 66 percent among Democrats approve, disapproval at 30 percent overall. The deficit battle and sewage fee provoke regional criticism. The Governor’s postsession rebound is noted as ordinary by policy analyst Mike Lawrence.
