Storms lash Chicago area with widespread damage and power outages
A fast moving storm with winds over 70 mph tore across the Chicago region causing roof collapses, downed trees, and power outages. Hospitals reported minor injuries and many residents were left without electricity as trains and flights halted and flood watches expanded across northern Illinois.
