IDPH cites nursing home violations in southern Illinois
The Illinois Department of Public Health issued May 27 violation notices and $10,000 fines to Colonial Plaza Nashville and Developmental Management Inc in Nashville for nursing area violations. Earlier notices on April 23 fined Oak Grove Rehab and The Willow of Carbondale $5,000 each, with hearings requested. Case closures include Chestnut Manor Herrin and New Way Developers Harrisburg after final orders reducing violations and fines. Linda Rush reports.

Trico budgets face 267000 shortfall for 2004 05 year
Trico School District proposes a 267,930 deficit for 2004 2005 with a 7,311,127 expense forecast against 7,043,195 income. Major gaps include 202,200 in building, 56,326 transport, 69,450 site and construction, and 32,700 liability funds. Final approval moved to Sept 23 after 30 days on display.

Elverado school district began the new year with staff hires including two high school boys basketball co coaches and several aides. Board approved an additional $90 000 in tax anticipation warrants bringing total borrowing to $270 000 this year to cover payroll while Pekin Insurance rates rise 12.5 percent adding roughly 3750 to 5300 monthly. A teacher contract runs through 2006. Coke wins five year district franchise with about 12000 first year revenue.
