Deaf priest aims to expand church life for the hard of hearing
Milwaukee native Father Christopher Klusman becomes one of fewer than 10 profoundly deaf priests in America and the first to enter the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's St Francis de Sales Seminary. He serves as associate pastor at St Roman Catholic Church while building a ministry for deaf and hard of hearing worshippers. He seeks to bridge deaf and hearing communities through signing liturgy and pastoral presence, amid ongoing concerns about past abuse within the church and calls for healing.
