SIU names Stephens to aid central campus governance plan
Clarence W. Stephens, Southern Illinois University professor, will serve one year as special assistant to SIU President Delyle W. Morris to plan central campus administrative changes. The move follows recent chancellor appointments at Carbondale and Edwardsville as governance shifts toward decentralization, with graduate program control and other duties to be allocated as committees finalize procedures. Morris says the Coordinating mechanisms will be tailored to fit each campus program, not a single system, and additional changes are expected in the 1968-69 budget and future years.
