Foot in Lake Turns Out To Be Mannequin Foot
A northern Illinois angler initially believed he hooked a human foot in Lake Marie near Antioch, but divers and sonar showed the item was a mannequin foot. The search by Gurnee Fire and authorities lasted about 10 hours before locating the object. The incident followed a separate Lake Michigan environmental report card giving the lake an overall C grade with D marks for beach water quality and water levels and a B for cleanup of polluted sites.
