Allied Maintenance then and now a world busiest housekeeper
A family founded cleaning firm Allied Maintenance started 78 years ago by David Frand and his son Daniel. From kerosene lanterns to cleaning, fueling, aircraft maintenance and baggage handling, they now employ 12,000 people cleaning 150 million square feet daily across the United States. They extended into hospitals, jails, banks, arenas, and even advised Oak Ridge. The piece includes odd advisories about a six foot broom and cleaning tips, but the core history shows a diversified, large scale cleaning and maintenance company with roots in immigrant labor.
