Trains Crash Kills Engineer After Jump Attempt
An engineer, John Ferguson, 69, of South Pekin was killed in a collision between a Chicago and North Western freight and a Chicago and Illinois Midland train at Barr Illinois. The crash piled cars at the crossing and damaged a two story control tower. Coroners from Menard and Sangamon counties investigated the scene.
