Zeigler considers new cable TV offer
Zeigler officials heard a Florida firm outline a 15 year cable franchise plan with 3 percent gross revenue, 15 dollar installation, and 8.95 dollar monthly rates but delayed action awaiting study on a prior franchise in August 1978 to Jones Intercable Co for which no service has begun. A central dispatch six month trial with Lesser and Christopher was approved along with a 3641 dollar equipment payment. The city park dedication for volunteers and a 12500 dollar grant from the Illinois Department of Conservation were announced, while a plea to recruit EMTs surfaced with July water bills. The council adjourned to Friday for tax levy ordinance action.
