Extra Court Space Studied in Williamson County
Williamson County commissioners will meet with circuit judges to determine court room needs under the new system starting January. A remodel of the present courthouse to create two rooms is possible, with no plans yet. The Bar Association plans improvements for two courtrooms including paneling and air conditioning. Charles Winters suggests a new courthouse near the Williamson County Airport to ease traffic and growth, but voters may not approve bond funding. Proposals to move county offices off Marion Square have circulated for about ten years, with a Hotel State alternative dropped in 1959 after protests.
