Stocks drop as economic worries grow in volatile trading
The S P 500 fell 2.6 percent to 1254.05 and the Dow slid 265.87 points as investors priced in slower growth and weaker earnings. Nasdaq and Russell 2000 also declined while safe havens climbed. Weak June consumption, soft incomes, and concerns over fiscal and monetary stimulus weighed on broad markets.
