Severe Storms Hit Northern Illinois With Hail and Floods
Storms blanketed much of northern Illinois on Friday bringing tornado warnings and reports of hail floods and power outages. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for southern Cook County as funnel clouds lingered from Burbank to Midlothian. Chicago area suburbs reported golf ball sized hail 60 mph winds and flooded streets while about 11 000 customers lost power statewide with 7 000 in DuPage County.
