Panel rejects coal transport cost pass through law
Illinois Senate Agriculture Conservation and Energy panel on Tuesday rejected a bill barring utilities from automatically passing along higher fuel costs for coal transport. The measure drew support from the United Mine Workers and opponents cited air rules limiting use of Illinois coal, while lawmakers approved other energy related bills and public notices in a lengthy session.
