Herrin Kroger Opens With Promotions And Expanded Lot
The Southern Herrin Kroger and city officials celebrate the grand opening at 8 a.m. with a ribbon cutting. Store manager Paul Mollet notes a doubled parking lot, larger food selection, and active giveaways through May 18 including ribeye prizes for four daily winners and 500 daily customers receiving food items or drinks. Every Kroger card user is entered to win a 35 inch color TV on May 18. The store employs 48 full and 54 part-time workers, up about 25 percent from last year, with Jeanne Casey and Jamie Andrew as co-managers.
