Pinckneyville High Arts Festival Showcases Student Creations
The 2002 The Great Outdoors Fine Arts Fest at Pinckneyville High School featured seed mosaics, suncatchers, origami, yam molas, magnets, and masks. Students from Art Club and Spanish Club, with Music Makers and jazz band help, led workshops while seniors and sophomores praised the event for sparking creativity and school interest.

Abduction Case Tied to May 7 Hearings for Myers
Rebecca Myers was abducted at gunpoint from her east of Anna home on April 5 and released unharmed after a five hour manhunt that led to her estranged husband Christopher Myers being captured. He faces counts of aggravated arson and kidnapping with $500,000 bail. Dennis Myers is charged with obstructing justice as to his son's whereabouts. Christopher claims indigence but later retained counsel Stark. Dennis posted bond on a separate count. Authorities located Christopher on Wing Hill Road. The latest court actions include bond revocation and first appearances.
