About 10 of 200 residents remained Saturday night after evacuation began Thursday by boat. Illinois 3 was closed between Chester and Cora, with detours via Illinois 4 through Steeleville. Missouri 61 near Ste. Genevieve to St. Marys was also closed. river level reached 38.29 feet by 8:30 p.m., nearing record levels.
