Death toll rises in Myrtle Point as Grace Johnson wife of Thomas V Johnson dies after gallstone operation. Mrs Johnson expressed fear before surgery and died at 11 30 Wednesday morning after surgeons removed stones. Survived by husband three daughters Edna Mae and Lois and son Verl. Funeral at the Presbyterian church Friday morning at 10.

Burial of Mrs Barklow in Myrtle Point
After a lengthy illness Mrs. Thomas Barklow died at her home in Myrtle Point last Saturday night. Relatives were prepared, though sorrow was deep. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 from the Church of the Brethren, one of the most attended in town with many businesses closing for the hour.

Teachers Institute Session Planned for October
County Superintendent C E Mulkey visited Myrtle Point to organize the county teachers institute set for October 20 21 and 22. The town must provide lodging for about 200 visitors and a church or hall for sessions while normal facilities are arranged. Prominent educators including State Superintendent Churchill will attend and Myrtle Point officials pledge to support a strong program under Superintendent Mulkey and local faculty.
