A locally organized 100 percent American Legion posts its women’s auxiliary, plans dances and entertainments to equip hall and club rooms, and seeks community support. Ex servicemen and their families are urged to contribute furniture, decor, and time to fund housing and activities, with registration at H A Schroeder’s booth during the fair.
Fire patrolman Walter Devoe shot Henry Miller 36 of McKinley five times near Allegany in mistaking him for a deer. Miller died. four bullets hit. A coroner’s inquest is planned in Touglas county. Devoe, an experienced woodsman, telephoned details to Mrs Kroeger and awaits relatives.
The Marshfield Record reports a wounded man stood upright after the first shots and moved about until the fourth bullet struck him, noting no sound escaped during the injury.
State Highway Commission pledges rapid construction of the Roseburg to Marshfield road with $40,000 county expense relief offset and contracts expected on most of the route by January 1. Lyman King and Mildred Mast wed as community celebrates, details at McKinley home.

The City of Myrtle Point Oregon proclaims September 18 19 20 1919 as public holidays from noon to end of day for the Cops and Curry Fair. The proclamation is signed by W Taylor Dement.
