At a Friday meeting the Myrtle Point Methodist congregation discussed building a new hollow brick church on the present grounds at Fifth and Maple. The plan envisions using the old building for Sunday school or dining space with a total cost about 10000 dollars. County high schools organize debating teams and schedule
County high schools met at the Chandler hotel Marshfield to elect officers for the county debate committee. J F Cramer was named president and H K Shirk vice president. Debates will be February 12 with negative teams traveling. Myrtle Point, Coos River and Riverton are matched in the program. Myrtle Point has ten tryouts for the team with four to be chosen. December tryouts will be held at the high school auditorium. The basketball schedule will be set soon. Myrtle Point, Cyos River and North Bend hold cup honors with possible permanent possession if Myrtle Point wins.

Bridge School Adds Modern Two-Story Building Plan
Bridge's new school building features a rectangular 60 by 80 foot plan with a full basement, ground floor grade rooms, a high school level auditorium with a 36 by 16 foot stage, and a folding-door assembly area. Mrs Roberts Injured After Fall into Coal Pit
Mrs. Roberts fell into a coal chute in Portland at dusk while alone. She was knocked unconscious and remained in bed for weeks, with bystanders alert but unable to pull her out until she revived. Her husband, Mr Roberts, visited and reported she was in very bad shape and badly bruised.

Collision at Millington damages cars and injures none
Alfred O Kellenberger of Norway driving a roadster and F McCallister of Coquille in a coupe collided on the bay highway at Millington last Wednesday evening. Both vehicles were damaged with the Coquille car turned upside down but no one was hurt. The site recalls a fatal collision at the same crossroad a week earlier amid fog and heavy pedestrian traffic.
