Burial Set For Respected North Fork Resident
William Lusk died Wednesday night at his North Fork home due to old age. Funeral 1:30 Friday at Schroeder chapel with burial in Norway cemetery. Born September 19, 1847 in Broome County New York he lived in Pennsylvania Kentucky and Michigan before settling on the North Fork. He married Minnie Clay in 1869 and had six children four of whom survive. He was a quiet, respected man.

Coos County Men Buy Large Timber Tracts at Roseburg Sale
In Roseburg a government timber sale drew Coos County lumbermen. Jesse D. Clinton of Myrtle Point purchased about 3 million feet from a tract of over 300 acres. Ben B. Chandler of Marshfield led the day with 4,200,000 feet of old growth fir and 13,425,000 feet of second growth fir part of a two‑half section bought for 18,714 dollars, plus another half section at 59,817.50 dollars. Purchasers gain a set time to remove their timber.

Testern Sentenced to Twelve Years for Statutory Charge

Hyman Huntley Freed of Murder Charge
Hyman Huntley, a resident of Coors county, was acquitted by a Medford jury that found insufficient evidence in the case heard last week. He had been tried for the stabbing death of Jesse Gibbs last September related to Gibbs alleged attentions to Huntley’s wife Hattie Huntley. The jury returned its verdict after about four minutes.

Illness of 82 year old Binger Hermann II reported at Roseburg
Binger Hermann II, former state official and district figure from Myrtle Point, is reported very ill at his Roseburg home after a recent Portland hospital operation. He is 82 and came to Oregon with his father in 1859 from Maryland.

Automobile Fatality Near Myrtle Point Claims George Loud
George A. Loud, 73, of Myrtle Point, was killed when his car struck a truck parked near a Marshfield highway. J S Whitaker survived with minor injuries. The crash led to an investigation by local authorities and a planned shipment of Loud’s body to Michigan.

The Sentinel reports postoffice department bids sought for daily mail service excluding Sundays from Coquille to Norway schoolhouse, Foxbridge, Gravel Ford, Fairview, and back to Coquille over 45 to 50 miles. Bids open June 19, 1926, service to begin July 1. The route ends a three-times weekly Fairview McKinley Dora Sitkum feeder and includes a Myrtle Point feeder to serve Gravel Ford Dora Sitkum districts.
