Myrtle Point Methodist congregation votes to build a new church on Maple and Fifth streets costing about 16000 dollars with seven thousand already subscribed. Two thousand-dollar gifts from two members pace a drive as 180 members hear Dr. Howarth and Dr. Chaney. New auditorium surrounded by Sunday school rooms will replace the present small quarters. Former Myrtle Point Girl Dies in Arizona
Ila Corinne Johnson Pullen, known as Ila Johnson in her Myrtle Point years, died in Phoenix on her 25th birthday after being taken there for health reasons. She was born April 30, 1901, in Myrtle Point and had lived in Bandon previously with her husband and family in the furniture business. Funeral arrangements followed in Phoenix with husband Jack, her father, mother, and brother present.

Her brother in law Homer Sigsby reports she was moved to a North Bend hospital last week after an operation and two quarts of blood were drawn from her chest. Many Autos Wrecked but Nobody Suffered
Wes Appleton and his new Essex automobile went over the bank on the Roseburg highway six miles east of Myrtle Point early yesterday. Reported to have fallen 20 feet, Appleton received scratches on the head. An unusual number of wrecks were noted over the weekend with six cars pulled in by a local garage between Saturday night and Sunday morning. A Bandon road wreck near Coquille involved six passengers who escaped injury. The Ray and Radabaugh families picnicked at North Bend park last Sunday.

The Royal Neighbors met in Myrtle Point for their seventh annual Coos County convention despite rain. Ellis Davis an 11 year old living with grandparents in Bridge was at the center of a custody dispute between his parents in North Bend. Police intervened as the parents attempted to take him to Coquille where a court session was planned. The boy was returned to his grandparents Tuesday night and resumed school.
