W H Mainwaring was a Marshfield visitor on Friday. Ralph Kinney was in Marshfield on Friday. Mack Hayes spent a few days in Marshfield last week. Charlie Like was a North Bend visitor on Friday. Sam Hoagland returned Friday from Mercy hospital in North Bend. Mrs F W Powers and sons visited in Marshfield on Saturday. Ed Price visited friends in Marshfield on Saturday. Reuben Summerlin went to North registered at Hotel North Bend on Tuesday. Jack Falcon was taken to Keizer hospital on Tuesday for a knee operation. Alberta Matista transacted business in Marshfield yesterday. Mrs Harold Potts was a Marshfield visitor on Wednesday.
The regular Wo man's Club meeting is set for Tuesday afternoon April 1 at 3 00 o'clock in the M. W. A. hall. All members are urged to attend and invite other women interested in community progress.
Mr and Mrs W Lee Ray started on an extended trip this morning by auto leaving here for California and then traveling across the southern part of the country to Florida. They expect to be gone about three months and will be missed in lodge activities here.
Bruce King Brice Monroe King born September 10 1917 on South Coast River died March 23 1894 at Pemberton hospital at age 6 years 6 months 13 days son of Mr and Mrs Lutie R King. He leaves two brothers and two sisters. Services were held at Powers March 25 and burial in Masonic cemetery Powers.
Sugarloaf and Myrtle Point districts held consolidation votes last Monday. In Sugarloaf the poll at the schoolhouse recorded 12 yes votes and in Myrtle Point Grammar School 12 yes votes with no negatives. Both precincts reported identical tallies of 12 votes in favor.
Broderick and Albee announce a new service station and repair shop named Auto Park Garage. Located one block from City Auto Park at Spruce Street and Railroad Avenue, the newcomers are well known locally and expect strong business.
C. E. Schmitt will open a new grocery store to the public Friday morning. The store occupies space in the new Perkins building and will stock a full line of grocery items. Read more about the announcement in a separate column.
A damaged loggin g company repairs their plane aged by constant use. They expect completion in about two weeks and plan to resume operations by the first of the month.
Myrtle Point Commercial Club hosted a luncheon with State Chamber leaders W G Ide and Arthur Foster guiding talks on attracting new settlers to Oregon. Speakers emphasized priced land and Coos County as a prime location, noting broccoli demand and a potential 300 to 350 car shipments next year.
Next Monday evening the Woodmen and the Royal Neighbors with their families plan a social gathering. A short program will precede general good times, and children are especially urged to attend.

Former pupils of Miss Fairy Davis gathered Friday night to surprise the beloved Fifth grade teacher. They shared reminiscences, played games, and enjoyed a delightful evening with nearly every former classmate in attendance.

A group of Myrtle Point maids and matrons gathered Wednesday evening to celebrate Mrs E J Schneiders birthday with reminiscences, music, and cards. A dainty repast followed. Attendees included Mrs Giles, Mr Kring, Mrs Rosslow, Mrs Osborne, Mrs Emery, Mrs Tedsen, Mrs Crawford, Mrs Warmer, Mrs Ball, Mrs Bowers, Mrs Mann, Miss Dugge, and Miss Emma Schneider.
