John C. Epperson Dies at 78 After 50 Years in Oregon
John Corbin Epperson born December 14, 1848 in Monroe County Iowa died Saturday at his Cobard Oregon home after surgery for bladder trouble. He moved with family to California then Oregon in 1868 and settled in Douglas and later Curry counties. Funeral held Monday at Schroeder chapel with Rev. Chas Barklow. Survived by ten children in Oregon and California including Ray A. and J. P. Epper son.

Slingsby Loses Fingers in Shotgun Accident
Former Myrtle Point man Robert Slingsby of Grizsly Bluff suffered the loss of three fingers and a torn thumb on his right hand when a shotgun discharged while he hunted gophers on leased ground in the Howe Creek area. He was treated at Ferndale hospital by Dr Bruner and is reported improving.
