Powers Line Closed For Bridge Repairs
Power line to Powers was shut last week due to unsafe bridges. A crew worked to reopen it next morning. Smith Powers Co used light shay engines to move logging trains with fewer cars while standard locomotives ferried trains to the bridge and back. No passengers travelled during the closure. Art Fish reported Marshfield roads were in fairly good shape on Tuesday.

Myrtle Point Boys Rally At State Tourney In Eugene
Myrtle Point placed with a strong showing at the state tournament in Eugene. They beat Tillamook 28 to 16 before falling 30 to 22 to Astoria, with guard Keltner hitting three long baskets. The team ends the season with twelve wins and one loss, and only one player returns next year.

City Council discusses water metering and vacancy
