Waterman Citerly Guerin born November 24 1875 in Buffalo New York died February 28 1921 in Bakersfield California age 45 moved to Eckley Oregon as a baby and helped build local roads He studied at Eckley Myrtle Point and Coquille and taught in Coos and Curry counties He joined the United States Geodetic Survey at 22 later led the 1909 12 Alaska Canada boundary project and produced all maps for the survey His work took him to Alaska San Francisco and Washington DC
