Funeral at Catching Creek Brethren church Sunday at 2 PM with Rev Omer Idso officiating. burial in Catching Creek cemetery. He leaves his parents two little sisters and a brother.

Frisco Man Killed On Roseburg Coos Bay Highway
A San Francisco steel salesman named Jones was killed in a car crash on the Roseburg Coos Bay highway near the Myrtle Point county line. He saw a truck dumping gravel and chose to strike off the road. his car overturned three times, breaking his neck, and died instantly. The body remained at the scene awaiting Douglas County coroner action.

Man injured knee at Bone Camp while cutting brush

Hartley Pioneer Harrison Hartley Dies at 81 in Salem
Harrison Hartley a longtime Coos County resident died in Salem after a long illness. Born June 24 1844 in North Carolina, he served in the Confederate army and married Margaret Isaacs in 1865. He and his family traveled from Missouri to Oregon and Washington before settling in Coos County in 1882. Funeral held at Brethren church with burial in Norway cemetery. Ten children were born. surviving are six sons and two daughters.

Stanford University dispatches report five young men including Oliver Clarke son of Dr and Mrs O H Clarke of this city taking part in a 72 hour sleep deprivation test. The class in psychology observed mind reaction after going without sleep for three days and nights. Clocked in at 10 01 a m the group returned to bed after the test with dark eye circles but no other major ill effects. The hardest hours were between 3 and 6 a m when mental reactions dulled per physicians notes.
