Cannery reopening eyed to process berries this season
Cresswell visits the city to arrange a Eugene cannery reopening for canning berries and possible pears plums cherries and prunes paying four cents per pound. The project would hire many workers, with the Commercial Club aiding and pickers to register.

Wartime Family Letters From 1916 1918
A collection of personal notes from World War I era detailing family greetings from New York City to Coos and Glendale. Red Cross Thanks Donors For May Contributions And Shipments
The Red Cross acknowledges donations totaling 46.70 from May 30 at Methodist church and from the Atah Club. A May 31 shipment included 25 pyjamas and 26 pairs socks, with 3 pyjamas from Broadbent auxiliary and 16 pairs socks from Norway. This was May’s second shipment. Attendance at the work room was small. 39 people helped in the week, and meeting days are Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays with attendees listed for each session.
